    Description

This is an excellent quality 8” x 10” newly reproduced black & white photo of a 1953 AUTOCAR Model DC10064S(V-8) Tandem-Axle Dump Truck owned by SOUTH SHORE READY MIX INC. in Deer Park, NY on Long Island. My original vintage photo is an authentic Autocar promotional photo taken 12/9/1953, that I obtained many years ago.
As an added bonus, I will include a photo copy of an April 1955 magazine ad from LeROI featuring their 200-hp Le Roi H540/V-8 Truck Engine with a photo of the engine and this very same South Shore Autocar DC100 dump truck. This ad mentions that this engine has been in service for the past 5 years, and has a big brother H844/V8 300-hp engine used in fire trucks and large snow plows.
”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image.
DESCRIPTION: My original vintage factory promotional photo is of a V-8 AUTOCAR Tandem Dump owned by South Shore Ready Mix Inc. in Deer Park, NY on Long Island. The V-8 engine in these Autocars were ‘valve-in-head’ V-8 gasoline engines made by LeRoi, with the cylinder block and crankcase cast integrally. (I owned a pair of 1955 Autocar V-8’s that had been repowered with the popular big Ford 534-cid V-8 engine. I was told that the LeRoi V-8’s did not hold up well, and were mostly replaced with comparable sized engines.) In this photo, the Autocar appears to have come from the dealer, freshly lettered, and before rear mudflaps and license plates had been mounted.
SOUTH SHORE READY  MIX INC.: Still exists as a concrete producer based in Valley Stream, NY, farther west on Long Island from Deer Park.
CONDITION: This outstanding black & white glossy photo is a newly reproduced photo from a vintage photo in my personal lifetime collection.  This photo has been printed on excellent quality HP PREMIUM PLUS GLOSSY PHOTO PAPER using HP 02 Vivera Inks, producing a professional quality photo that resists fading over 100 years ... the best money can buy.  This 8x10 photo has a narrow white border around the photo.
For your information, the description and documentation of this photo will be loosely taped to the back side of this photo. I try to ad some “added value” to my photos by researching each one, adding some history and information that you may not know. If I get something incorrect, please let me know … thanks!
