Description
This is an excellent quality 8” x 10” newly reproduced black & white photo of a 1954 AUTOCAR Model DC9764OH Tandem-Axle Dump Truck parked in front of Buckley’s old brick shop building. The Autocar was owned by BUCKLEY & COMPANY, Philadelphia. My original vintage photo is an authentic Autocar promotional photo.
”SAMPLE” will not appear on your photo, it is only on the scanned image.
DESCRIPTION: This factory promotional photo of Buckley truck #60 was a Model DC9764-OH as identified in another photo I have of the same truck. The “OH” in the model number signifies it was built for “
O
ff
H
ighway” work. Owned by BUCKLEY & COMPANY, Philadelphia, PA. The Autocar in this photo appears to be brand new, freshly lettered, with no usage marks on it yet, and before the wooden sideboards were added to the new dump body. A driver leans out the window, talking to another employee with a clip-board on his knee, resting on the running board.
NOTE: I also have a different photo of Buckley #60 Autocar, taken later on a construction project, as it dumps a load of fill. And also of Buckley #61 Autocar loading under a Northwest 80-D shovel.
BUCKLEY & CO.: Is a large and prominent Philadelphia based heavy/highway contractor. Founded in 1928 specializing in foundations. As they grew, they transitioned to a heavy contractor, completing many large projects in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Florida, California, and Puerto Rico. As of 2017, Buckley & Co. was still active as a major highway/heavy contractor located in Philadelphia.
