Description
DAVIDSON PNEUMOTHORAX APPARATUS. This device was used to collapse the lung as treatment for Tuberculosis in the 1930s and 40s before antibiotics were available. It was developed By Dr. Louis Davidson, a tuberculosis specialist in New York and patented in 1930. It comes in a walnut case and is complete with the original instructions. It is in excellent original condition with all tubes, and glassware intact. There is one in gthe Museum of American History in Washington DC, There is more information about it on their web site.If you collect medical antiques this is a must for your collection.
