F. Herder 6 1/4 inch kitchen knife. Butcher/ sticking/ utility knife.
Straight stiff blade with sharp point is very useful for all kinds of jobs in the kitchen.
Vintage old stock in unused condition.
Blade is made from the finest German high carbon steel. F Herder knives gained a reputation for very high quality steel which keeps a sharp edge for a long time but is easy to sharpen and very durable. High carbon steel is not stainless and needs more care to avoid rust but provides better cutting performance than stainless.
The handle is made from one single piece of natural wood attached with three rivets. The wood is very hard and well aged and will make a very durable handle.
Knife is unused with factory edge.
