Amazing Bronze Finished Brass Foo Dogs! Beautiful Shishi Lions - Heavy and Large at 21.8 Pounds!!!
THE SET for the serious temple dog collector! This is a three piece set - two foo dogs and sphere with rope and tassels~
These are brass foo dogs with a bronze finish, they look bronze, they are extremely heavy - over twenty pounds combined -
Bronze is not magnetic from all my research, not even a little. So, I tested these with a fifty pound magnet. It would not stick or hold but there was some attraction, which leads me to believe these are brass with a bronze finish / cold painted brass.
Having said all of that, these are exquisite, highly detailed carved brass, out of all the foo dogs that I have came across, these are the nicest that I have ever seen... they are quite fabulous~
The sphere has a small Japan label, both foo dogs have deep set makers marks in their bellies that are identical - not etched in, stamped in...
Both are solid brass with medium to light wear, slight rubbing and light scratches and patina - probably from being handled over the years. Please see / zoom all photos for wear.
There are no cracks, chips, breaks, repairs, dents or dings that I can find, just some light rubbing, scratches, mostly were they rest on each other.

As a set / assembled / placed - they measure 9 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 16.5 inches long - their combined weight is 21.8 pounds~
Shipping is set high due to the weight and the packing requirements to make sure they get there safely - which requires two separate shipments in double boxes, fully insured and shipped priority.
Any differences in shipping total will be refunded - no overages will be charged or requested.
