    Description

For sale is a pre-1906, quack medicine tin, "No-To-Bac."  This product was distributed by Sterling Products, Inc., of Wheeling, West Virginia.  It was, "intended to assist in overcoming tobacco habit, in every form."  The tin itself measures about 3 3/4' in width and 2 1/2' tall and shows its age of over 114 years.  The original price was .00 or 3 for .50.  Users of No-To-Bac were cautioned to not use alcohol while using the product due to a potential of, "such stimulant may excite the nerves and interfere with the treatment." The preaching against the ill-effects of tobacco on the inside and outside of the tin are hilarious. This is such a wonderful example of the pre-1906 quack medicine claims.  Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description.
This unique, and funky, old tin comes from a clean, non-smoking environment. Please email me with questions. Thanks for looking.
